JETAA ARCHIVE

Welcome to a repository of historical records for JETAA background and history.

We've been quietly recording history of JETAA as it happens. Now you can access the records and discover how it all started.

PRESERVING THE PAST

"And you may ask yourself, 'Well, how did I get here?'"

- Talking Heads (David Byrne).

Condensing the history of JETAA into any readable form is challenging. However, considering
JETAA is almost entirely comprised of volunteer leaders who come and go in fairly rapid cycles – maybe 2 or 3 years at most – not to mention members whose active participation is usually quite limited, giving a sense of continuity and purpose is critical, even for something that has “only” been around for a little over 30 years at this point.

Rather than just attempting (once again) to summarize where JETAA comes from and what it is, perhaps it would be useful – and entertaining – to enjoy some of the source documents, which also have the advantage of letting us see how alumni saw themselves, along with their challenges and hopes, in those moments.

This archive is intended as a resource for those who would like to get a taste of where today’s
JETAA, even if mainly in the US and Canada, comes from. Furthermore, if it serves as a magnet for other such documents from the global community, even better.
