JETAAI Executive Officer elections for the 2017-2018
Executive Officer elections for the 2017-2018 term were held in March.

We are happy to announce that Xander Peterson will continue for a second term as Chair and Ashlie O'Neill as Vice Chair. This was the first election overseen by members of the Board of Advisors, in accordance with the JETAA-I Bylaws, and as such represents another step forward in getting JETAA-I's governance structure fully up and running. The new term began on April 1st and runs to March 31st of 2018, to synchronize with the Japanese fiscal year.
Xander is a former JET Program Coordinator at the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and served as a Country Representative for the US from 2014 to 2017. He was an ALT in Miyazaki Prefecture from 2009 to 2012.
Ashlie was active in AJET during her time as an ALT in Hyogo Prefecture, including holding the positions of Block 6 Rep, and served as Director of Alumni Relations as well as Vice Chair for NAJET before returning to Australia in 2016.
Now that elections are over, Xander and Ashlie are looking forward to working with the full Executive Committee, the Board of Advisors, and the Webmaster (our inimitable Eden Law) to move forward with efforts to find and engage alumni in countries that do not at present have any chapter or formally recognized group, to review and revamp JETAA-I's online presence, and to identify and pursue other projects that will contribute to improving how JETAA-I functions and serves its members.
